#Mashed, Channel 4 Online’s first TV commission broadcast on Channel 4 at the end of 2012, has been extended to 4oD and YouTube as a showcase brand for original short form content. The Mashed YouTube channel comprises entirely of new content featuring sketches, parodies, music and other diverse contemporary material commissioned from some of YouTube’s most famous – and infamous – creatives.
#Mashed for online will initially run for six months with new videos added weekly – and a selection of the best content will also feature alongside unseen material in a new 2013: Mashed TV programme to be broadcast on Channel 4 later this year.
Online, the #Mashed network of independent creatives will also be commissioned to create trailers for new Channel 4 series. The first include three tongue-in-cheek videos for the forthcoming series of The Fried Chicken Shop from YouTube creatives Nick DenBoer, Tea&Cheese and Superpowerless.
