4REMOTE FOR CHANNEL 4
4remote was a prototype smartphone application that allowed audiences to control their connected television/DVR from their iPhone.
Commissioned through Channel 4′s convergent formats fund the application was designed to unify live, catchup and forthcoming TV through a simple swipable EPG, as well as delivering personalised recommendations linked to the user’s profile based on in-app behaviour and social activity.
Prototyped to work with youview, but with potential for any number of connected TV platforms, the 4remote prototype was designed not only to test the technology, but also how audiences would interact with a next generation remote control, passing through several iterations of user interface design.
